In Europe and North America they provide an image of bold metals ranging from the warm golds, bronzes and coppers to the daring platinum, stainless steel and pewters. These can be applied with a texture to feel like a metal,or smooooooth and incorporated into a color wash. These finishes are popular with metals being used more and more into the decoration of an office or home! You'll love it!! First and Second Prizes for Faux Finishes in the Parade of Homes October 2006! A great team - Mike Childers of Childers Construction, Debbie Lail of Window Wraps & Interiors and Faux-Creations by Martin teamed together to win First Prize in EVERY category of the homes 1- 1.5 million dollars. It was a honour to be part of the faux finishing that was used in this gorgeous home. Training Classes are BIG this year! The demand for individual training to do one particular faux finish to days of faux finish have greatly been increasing. Customers are coming from Frankfort, Georgetown, and Lexington to learn - not from a store video which only shows the easy bits on a flat board but to learn everything from my 22 years of experience. Customers leave with a thorough knowledge to do a project or even to go into business for themselves. I LOVE to teach my craft and see the joy on a student's face (whether 18 or 80!) when they learn the little tricks that enable them to create a beautiful masterpiece. They also leave knowing that if they have a problem I can do follow up to make sure their project is a success. If they are going into business for themselves they have a portfolio they can show customers. During lunch is the time that we sit and eat discussing the business aspects, pricing, bidding, safety and any questions they have. I have been gifted with this talent and because I know this is a 'talent' I enjoy sharing this gift so that others too may make their homes and offices beautiful!!! I am hoping that in the next few months to be able to have a bed and breakfast where I can incorporate a place to stay, eat and learn and practice.
